Cotopaxi: what would make this landing page clearer?

The Cotopaxi homepage leads with a holiday promotion instead of the brand's main reason to buy, and the Allpa 35L product page has fixable SEO gaps: two H1s that aren't the product name, a 519-character meta description, and no rating data in its Product schema.

What does the first screen say now?

Cotopaxi first screen, recreated as a wireframe from the October 2026 snapshot text
  1. The H1 is the promotion, "HOLIDAY GIFT WITH PURCHASE". The page has five H1s in total.
  2. Category links come before any statement of what the brand stands for.
  3. Gear For Good, the clearest reason to choose the brand, isn't on this screen. It sits further down the page.

Wireframe recreation from the page's public text, not a screenshot of the live site.

What would the rewrite look like?

Cotopaxi first screen, recreated from the October 2026 snapshot. Headline: HOLIDAY GIFT WITH PURCHASE Proposed rewrite of the same screen. Headline: Gear that lasts. Trips that matter.
Before: public page, recreatedAfter: my rewrite

What should change first?

  1. The homepage H1 is a holiday promotion. “HOLIDAY GIFT WITH PURCHASE” takes the top spot, and Gear For Good, the clearest reason to pick this brand, sits further down the page. verified for the position; the effect on sales is my guess.
  2. No ratings reach search results. The product page shows guarantee and returns text, but the static HTML has no ratings and the Product schema has no aggregateRating. verified
  3. Cheap technical fixes. Five H1s on the homepage, a product-page H1 that isn’t the product name, and a 519-character product meta description. None of these needs a redesign. verified
